Challenge Start times
'The Mile' - 9.45am • 'The Seven' - 10.30am • 'The Thirteen' - 10.30am
Please allow at least 3/4 hour to park and collect your race number from the village hall prior to your challenge start time To help keep you safe, please follow our marshals instructions throughout the challenge. The route uses public tracks and footpaths with occasional short sections on/across country roads. Please take extra care on the few road crossings you will have to make. Where live stock are present in fields it is essential that dogs are on a lead, no matter how well behaved. The route will be well sign posted with orange markers, these will keep you on the right path. However, in the unlikely event you get lost, re-trace your steps to the previous marshal and ask for directions. There will also be 'running' marshalls on route and a sweeper, so if all else fails just wait for a marshal to turn up and ask for assistance. If you are in difficulty and have a phone, please ring the event director and he will do everything he can to help. (number provided at registration) It would be best to arrive ready to 'race' if possible. However you may get changed in the village hall, there will be a separate rooms for male and female competitors. Bags may be left at the village hall, but please do not leave any valuables in them. All personal belongings are left at your own risk. Runners with dogs please be aware there are numerous stiles without dog access.
Please remember to check back in with the Marshal as soon as you get back to the finish. For runners this means you will get an accurate race time and more importantly we will know that everyone is back safely in Peatling and not in a ditch somewhere !!
We are a small village, so there are very few parking places that don't cause an obstruction, particularly for farm traffic. Please follow the parking signs which will direct you to a parking area just a short hop from the Village Hall.
Light refreshments will be served throughout the day in the Village Hall. Post race cake and hot cobs for all competitors.
It is assumed by the event organiser that you are fit to compete. If you do have any medical conditions that may affect your ability to take part safely, please consider the risks carefully. It is essential that you notify the event of any physical or medical conditions that could potetially hinder your progress. Any information passed to the organiser will be kept in the strictest confidence and will be deleted/destroyed after the event is complete.
There will be ample parking and plenty of refreshments available throughout the day in the village hall. There will be one water station at approximately half way on the 7 mile route with a further two water stations plus one feed station on the 13 mile course, to keep you well hydrated and fuelled throughout.
Afterwards, after a quick towel down, why not take the family to ' The Shires Inn ' for a superb Sunday lunch. An extremely well respected restaurant, serving hearty first class meals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They won't mind if you are a bit muddy !! www.theshiresinn.co.uk.
